A Fast Start to see (partially) what X-DVE2 is able to do.
----------------------------------------------------------
X-DVE needs OS2.0+ and 4Mb+ Fast Ram
(this demo version lacks of 68000-specific libraries)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Click one of the "-->" icons according to the CPU/FPU installed in
your Amiga.
Warning: if you do not have an FPU, you cannot use FPU-Specific
libraries, or you'll get a crash during the render phase.
2) Start X-DVE clicking on its icon (a check window appears: wait).
3) You are facing X-DVE editor's screen. Now you can load a ready made
X-DVE script clicking on the "Load" button in the "Script" box
4) Select one of the scripts with the (well known) File-Requester.
5) You can have an idea of the script if you click the "Preview" button
in the "Animation" box.
While you are (Pre)viewing the animation, you'll able to jump to any
frame of the script with the frames slider (the control panel acts like
a VCR).
Press the "ESC" key to go back to the editor.
6) It's time to render the animation.
Click the "Mem" button in the "Animation" box and you'll face the
"Memory Render" requester.
Now, I suggest you to render every script in "32BitI" mode or "16BitI"
mode (the others "16Bit" and "32Bit" are only for Disk-Play facilities).
So, select "32BitI" mode and set the "Loop" checkbox ON (this will close
the animation for a perfect loop-play as PPaint does).
We are ready to start: Click the "Render" button and wait for the rendering
to be complete (A4000 users will wait for some seconds (!)).
Note that your Amiga's multitasking is NOT dead, and you can jump to the
Workbench screen with the normal Amiga-N keys.
7) As soon as the rendering phase is finished, you can see the animation
Clicking the "Play" button (....... yes IT IS very smooth).
I suggest you to play the animations with "LOOP" and "AUTOPAUSE" modes.
During the execution of the animation, you can Start/Pause with the
left mouse button or stop it with the right mouse button.
8) You can free your memory from the current animation with the "Clear"
button ("Memory Render" requester ) and load another script.
9) The demo scripts are really short and somewhere confusing, but
this demo version can handle only 150 frames animations and
it is a difficult task to show the power of X-DVE in such a little
space.
Anyway the sales version of X-DVE2 is capable to handle upto 10.000
frames animations (and we suppose it is enough for any kind of
application).
10) Whe you've finished with the demo, you can remove the temporary assigns
clicking the "UnAssig" icon in this demo disk.
Thanks for reading.
